The tablet bandwagon is welcoming a new entrant, the 3G Tab from Reliance, which boasts of being one of the cheapest tablets available in the market. Running on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system, you can select from a range of tariffs and plans available for the tablet. It should be noted that the Reliance 3G Tab will work only in 3G enabled circles.

Under the hood, the 3G Tab houses an 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. The Reliance tablet sports a 7-inch multi-touch screenwith a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. This tablet from Reliance is adorned by a 2 megapixel rear camera and a front facing VGA camera. The latter allows you to video chat with your friends and family.

With access to the R World Online, which is a preloaded application on the Tab, you can get all the latest news, music, movies and much more. The tablet also features Reliance TV so that you can catch up on your favorite TV shows even on the go.

Design

Reliance has given the 3G Tab a simplistic design. The front part carries three buttons (Home, Menu and Back) and a shiny bezel lining the 7-inch TFT LCD screen. The back has a smooth silver finish with the rear camera placed on the top left portion. The top panel of the tablet makes room for the speaker and the headphonejack.

Storage and Battery

The Reliance 3G Tab uses a standard 3400 mAh Li-On battery, which once fully charged, gives you a talk time of 9 hours and a standby time of 300 hours. For storing multitude of files, you can expand the memory of the 3G Tab to up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

Connectivity and Features

You can connect to the Internet on the 3G Tab using Wi-Fi and 3G. What's more, the Reliance tablet can also turn as a Wi-Fi hotspot and serve as a router for other devices. Your direction finding woes will take a break now as this tablet is enabled with GPS feature.

The various call features of the 3G Tab include 3 way calling, mute in call, speed dial and switching to Bluetooth device. The tablet comes with several preloaded apps like YouTube, Google Maps and Search, Gmail, Facebook and Twitter. And with access to the Android Market, you can download as many apps as you want.
